First: I got the same error in the tittle of this tread but in Karmic K. Being a complete Newb to Linux OS - I dont know where to look to fix the USB Network Adapter problem. New PC's do not have read only devices and this also rules out USB Flash drives. This computer has another Asus motherboard, althoug it's Asus M2N-SLI Deluxe, so it's entirely different.
Inserting the CD in a booted live environment instantly throws the same I/O error. The bug is still present.
