I would also retest the DVD's again and remove only the data cable. The few threads I've dug up online have pointed to card readers, but I don't have a card reader. Does this make it easier to find the culprit? (Btw, I have 2TB hd's connected. But still, this error shouldn't come, right?

You could have just a loose cable so make sure that your connections are snug when you put them on. I put the UniBeast USB drive into a USB 2.0 port, pressed F12 at the boot screen and selected USB HDD. For now I'll have to do without sleep mode. 10.2013 View the discussion thread.
